Rick Arnold Background

Rick was born in Hazard, Kentucky and graduated from Clay County High School as an all-state basketball player.  He was inducted into the Clay County Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.  After high school, Rick spent time in Florida playing music on the beaches with his band.  Wanting to write and record his own songs Rick moved to Nashville.   He charted 3 singles in the Top 100 of Billboard or Cashbox.  His big break came when HANK WILLIAMS JR. recorded a song that Rick wrote called "Hog Wild".  Hank also made "Hog Wild" the title of his album.  Rick was getting ready to do a video and release the song himself when Hank called wanting to record the song.   In addition to writing the song, Rick was also in Hank's video and played on the album.   A couple of years ago in Lexington, Kentucky, Hank brought Rick on stage to play jaw harp with the band as they ended the show playing "Hog Wild".  That was awesome!!  In addition to being the title cut, "Hog Wild" has also been on several other albums and DVD's and was also used by the Arkansas Razorbacks as their theme song.  After 23 years in Nashville, Rick is now on the road full-time entertaining, performing about 125 shows per year. He plays corporate events, resorts, clubs, festivals and schools.  He spends approximately 7 months a year working in Florida and the rest of the year Rick travels around the country entertaining.  He spends part of the summer in Nashville writing and producing new songs.
